Those of us who have been of victims of acne know that acne is not only a medical problem but a social problem as well, with the sufferer going through prolonged bouts of embarrassment, questions from curious friends and endless  Acne Treatmentsadvice from people who seemed to be having the key to most problems in life. We also know that no matter how hard you try with the innumerable over the counter medications acne is such a stubborn ailment that nothing seems to work irrespective of the amount of money you have spent on these drugs. Acne forums are full of success stories which appear to be plausible remedies but unless it works with you specifically, you can never tell whether this was a good recommendation or not.

This article is not about my tale of woe which I wish to share with my readers. On the contrary I thought I would inform my readers that therapy of acne is also readily available, close at hand and it is only that we do not seem to give them much heed, may be because they are so simple and easily accessible. The best part perhaps about these tips is that it does not cost you any money. I have burnt my fingers in going overboard with my acne medications and thoroughly endorse these free tips which have worked with me wonderfully. These 3 tips which I would share with you have proved to me that it can work and I am sure you could also give it a try:

  • Exercise: Though I have heard before that exercise is essential for the maintenance of good health, I never realized how it could cure my acne, before I experienced it myself. Regular and regimented exercise actually can bust the negativity which sets in us and the stress that we suffer every day when we suffer from acne. The worst affected is our sense of self esteem and it is not uncommon to find an acne patient depressed. But a word of caution here and that is when you do your exercises take care not to wear tight nylon or lycra garments. These are synthetic fabrics which entrap the moisture as well as the neat and this creates the right type of environment for skin bacteria to flourish. Wear cotton gear which are loose fitting and keep all the sports gear and equipment clean and hygienically maintained.
  • Keep you skin healthy: Even if you are using medicated or anti-fungal soaps, avoid scrubbing or over cleansing your skin as this causes skin irritation. It could even trigger over production of oil to replace the oil which you have just washed off and could cause blocked pores all over again. Make sure that you use soaps with gentle exfoliation and never use products which contain alcohol.
  • Eat healthy: It is a fact that diet actually can negatively affect acne and can trigger further outbursts. But what is good for the body has to be good for the skin too. So make sure that your diet contains adequate vitamins, minerals and other nutrients which are known to prevent acne breakouts.
