Treatments and Acne Quick fixes

Acne is a dreadful condition especially for women, young and old.  How will you feel seeing an ugly zit in your nose or forehead the day before your wedding or graduation?   If the special event in your life is still way ahead, you can go to a dermatologist and ask for acne treatments, however, what will you do if it is only few hours away from it?

Do not worry, this article will discuss some common acne treatments and some acne quick fixes you can apply to acne problems

We will start with common treatments and then move on to quick fixes when you need to.

Common acne treatments

Benzoyl Peroxide

Benzoyl Peroxide is an FDA approved acne treatment.  You can buy benzoyl peroxide over the counter.  It has a lotion formulation, cream and even facial wash with benzoyl peroxide can help treat acne.

Antibiotic creams

Antibiotic creams are likewise advised by doctors for treatment of acne.  You can also take oral antibiotics but of course, always ask your doctor for his advice.  He is the best person in the position to advice treatments for your acne.

Treatment of acne is always based on the cause.  Some cases of acne are caused by stress, and thus, reversing the condition is the only treatment you need.

Retin-A

Retin-A is another medication for acne.  It works to dry the acne but since it will cause redness and peeling, you have to give it time to work.  In some cases, you will see acne worsening before it gets better.  Progress usually shows after a week of medication.

Depending on the cause of your acne, your dermatologist or medical doctor will be best to advice the treatment you have to undergo.  Some of the treatments mentioned above are over the counter medication.  While you can easily buy them, asking the advice of your dermatologist is your best defense.

Likewise, please note that each individual has different skin characteristics.  Thus, acne treatments that work for your friend may not work for you. By the same token, what may work for you may not work for your friend.  Always seek help from professionals to avoid worsening your condition.

Now, on to some quick fixes you can do when the event is now and you see acne in your face.

You can use alcohol or an antibiotic pill.

How to do it?

If you see pus in your acne, get a clean needle; rub some alcohol in it to disinfect.  Then prick just a small hole on top to let the pus out.  After which, put some alcohol in a cotton ball and apply to the acne.  It will help dry it out.

Alternatively, you can open up an antibiotic pill.  Put someon the acne after you have released the pus.  It will help avoid infection and will help dry out the acne.

Again, use the magic of make up to conceal the blemish.  Do this only when there is a special event within the same day.

Quick fixes can be helpful but if not done right, it may worsen your condition.  Thus, only use acne quick fixes when necessary.  In all cases if you can, its best to avoid quick fixes and consult your dermatologists for a long term treatment solution.
